Join us at Queensland Pioneer Steam Railway as we join with the Ipswich "Centenary of Anzac" Committee and turn back the clock to the war years and recreate the ‘Troop Trains’ that worked their way from country to city, from the Bight to the Cape moving men and materials for the World Wars.
The locomotive, carriages and stations will be turned back to their "Wartime" Appearance and the Troops will again ride the rails, and you have the chance to ride with them and share the experience.
This trip will also include an open day at Swanbank Station, visitors can see military displays, vehicles and re-enactments on the banks of Swanbank Lake.
Come along dressed in either 1910 or 1940 costumes and have a exciting, enlightening and educational day out, with food available on site.
I'm planning to go, and I'll keep you posted as to what train I plan to be on so you can book on the same one. (:
