HI. I am new to the site and newly into Lolita anbd cosplay fashion. It seems like everyone on here makes there own costumes. Wow! I don't think I could ever do that. Does anyone know if there are online shops that sell cosplay costumes or could do a custom made costume? What about some Japanese school uniforms that are styled after some anime characters??
Thanks in advance!!

Some stores that sell lolita clothes (lolita fashion as opposed to lolita cosplay) are places like Anna House and Metamorphose. Sometimes the Oz_Lolita LiveJournal has several girls in one state that do group orders to save on shipping. What state are you in?

As for cosplay, Cosmates sells a few things including sailor fuku, or you can try ebay stores where often the sellers are Chinese commissioners and will custom make. Just be careful about their feedback and have a look at the photos/do your research before buying.

Or... have a go at making something yourself. A lot of us here started on something simple and now we're making things we never dreamed we could either!!

Edit: for spelling.

You can also try ebay, however some of the costumes use cheap fabrics and charge a fortune. But for anime style wigs, I have found ebay is the best.

yeah, ebay is good, but you do take your chances on quality. i found a new website though that specializes in custom made lolita apparel. they say they can custom make a cosplay costume too if you send them a picture of what you want. i think the site is www.lolitababyangel.com

good luck!

It looks interesting but I always feel concerned when the pictures posted of replica items for sale are photos stolen from the brand websites the items are originally made by. I would only ever buy if the company showed their own photos of the items so I could understand the exact quality of the item I would be receiving.

For many products on that website you posted I can only see the quality of the original brand item (mostly Baby the Stars Shine Bright or Angelic Pretty) which is no real reference to what I'd be receiving as a replica.

Lastly, though its not really an issue on this friendly forum I thought it might be a good idea to warn you that on other online lolita communities calling lolita outfits a "costume" will make some lolitas unpleasant. They don't see it as a costume but rather as a fashion outfit. A fine-line between the two that means the world to people who take the fashion seriously. biggrin.gif

Hey if you're looking for something special I make custom pieces & accessories in a shop on James place (upstairs next to bottle shop). It looks like a rave store but I do all custom clothing for the alternative scenes....eg. goth, rave, cyber, Jap street, lolli, fruits, fetish etc. & can also do costuming for cosplay.
My partner also does a lot in electronics so we can add LED's & light paper/string to anything you may need!

We try to keep our prices fair and I love everything I get to create smile.gif the more challenging the better hehe
if you want to see some of my work I have some pics up on www.clear-concept.com/forum (under global energy)...again its mainly rave-wear and hopefully i'll have some new pics from more recent work up within the next week!

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or drop in after 10.30am mon-sat! kirsty.brunt@clear-concept.com
