Ok as a very simple cosplay outfit I think that this would possibly be THE easiest one to make. Basically I know someone that wants to go with his kids but doesn't want to be recognised. Failing that if he doesn't wear it, I will. It's not like it's a custom fit.

After deciding that the black stuff is kind of like a cloak I ran and grabbed my cloak and wrapped it around my face. My partner commented that it looked like a burqa -.-

But there's the question, should I just make a basic burqa and sew it to the mask? Much easier then making another cloak. (6 bits of rectangular cloth)

Should I add chiffon as an outer layer for the fadey effect as well?

I'm just curious to see what you guys think.

most people seem to make the mask attached to a helmet or head attachment so that it extends the height of the person wearing it. The black "cloak" is made I guess a bit like a burqa. Some people make it like a full body cover with a couple of slits for their arms to be out only when needed. Some people add arms so they can do the arm motions as per the movie.

Here is a good one (imho) on deviant art

You might want to try cosplay.com and see if anyone has made one there.

Thank you both so very much!

Since I had no net ( mad.gif ) We've [somewhat blindly] commenced work on the mask. Seeing as it was an 8cm picture we put it on a grid and re-scaled it to an 8inch grid, which is about the size we want.

The helmet is a great idea, I'll probably use it in one of my own costumes in the future as I'm 5'2 and need extra height.

And I was thinking slits to poke arms through as he doesn't always have his arms out... that and have long tight gloves as the black underneath seems to almost be skin tight.
