Okay, this is just a crazy random idea that popped into my head the other day but I wanted to see what people thought of it and if there was any sort of interest.

I heard on the news that Starlight Foundation is having some problems financially and are having to cut some of the services for the kids, including wishes, due to lack of donations.

Now, I had been thinking about trying to arrange a winter loli meetup and wondered if it would be worth trying to get meetups all over the place again and get each group to try and raise donations for Starlight, either from among the people coming to the meetup or by doing things like cupcake sales etc.

If it was something that there was interest for, I would want to talk to Starlight first and see if they were okay with it. The point was made to me that they may not want the term 'lolitas' associated with them, which is a good point and part of why I used lolis instead. The alternative, of course, would be costumers in general doing something.

I'd also love to hear if anyone else has ideas like this because I know a lot of similar groups are doing it hard right now, including the animal shelters and protection agencies because people can't afford to keep their pets and are abandoning them by the dozens. sad.gif

Thoughts? Come on guys, let me know what you think. smile.gif

I think that idea is made of awesome. I only have prefab loli at the moment, but I can definitely fix that if need be. I can't think of a more made of awesome thing to do with a cosplay outfit. Count me in.

PS: goth style, cutesy style or any style we like?

Thanks, Fault! I was surprised that no one else has posted so I might pop this in events to see if maybe that will drum up more interest.

I was thinking any style, really. Just thought it would be good for us to use are love of costumes and fashion to help out a good cause. smile.gif

It's a great idea, and I'd love to wear my Wa-Loli sooner rather than later ;-)

I can't wait to see it, I like wa-loli. smile.gif

Also, if starlight doesn't want us (or even if they do) we could do lolis for breastcancer.

I've been training for triathlon, but I'm only good at swimming so far, so a tag-team event would be great smile.gif.

Also, I KNOW there are lolis in Brisbane, we just need to find them and get them to be Cute for a Cause. So I'm sure Lolis can do GOOD.

I did post on the other thread, but as a Lolita from brisbane, we did speak about doing a fundraiser in the form of a bake sale for something like the RSPCA. It was first mentioned on the oz_lolita livejournal forum. I was intending to bring this up again later this year for Brisbane.

Recently I have found my way into steampunk and I am loving it!

I love men in napoleonic/georgian military uniforms, especially the British Royal Navy lol! Boys in uniform are yum :D

Another thing I enjoy (even though it is not a costume) is the Lolita style of fashion and I am the main organizer for such events as AvCon Panels and Fashion parades and meet ups.

By trade (and Passion) I am a Portrait Photographer and love shooting different and awesome things.

I am also just starting to get into Ball Jointed Dolls (BJD) such as Dollfie etc. My first one is called Horatio and is an Officer in the Royal British Navy of 1795. I now have three more dolls lol. Isis, chelsea and Pingping. And a Foruth Leviathan, with six more on the way.

So that is just a little bit about me...thanks for reading.
