Hi everyone,

For the cosplayers or cosplay-interested out there who would ike to learn more about cosplay, sewing, and anything else related and can make it to AVCON (July 14th-16th) in Adelaide there will be a Cosplay panel held during the weekend. Unfortunately I don't know what day, but the whole weekend should be great fun so come for all of it

Shi-Tenshi (the panel host) is currently requesting ideas for the panel over on the AVCON forums - This post in particular, therefore if there is anything you would be interested in please head over and let them know.

(Or if you really don't want to take the time to create a username there, tell me here and I'll try to pass it on)


PS: Attendance at AVCon does not require a costume, but it would be great if you're going to have one, plus they have a cosplay competition as well!!

I am interested in how they make the wigs, but I see you've already posted that.

It's a shame the panel was so short due to time limits... perhaps a longer "workshop" type panel would be of more benefit next year?

Whilst I completely agree with all that was said at the panel; the average newbie, now made aware of common cosplay problems, is not going to know how to fix any mistakes without seeking further help. A workshop, be it a quick guide to styling wigs, colouring shoes, etc... would give them confidence in making their future cosplays just that much better!

I, for one, would gladly volunteer to be part of that.

Yeah a workshop style thing would be great! One thing I learnt over the weekend myself was how to put on a wig thanks to the people that helped me over the weekend. I think that sort of thing would be great too.

And ladysilverspider has experience with bird seed boobs and crepe hair to make facial hair so perhaps that stuff would be cool in some workshops either for the ACG or at AVCon.

he he, and ladysilverspider also made a rather handsome chap! She had a beard, moustache and bushy eyebrows for her pirate costume! lol
