Well i have been collecting the Extraordinary League of Gentlemen series by Allan Moore, there is Vol. 1, Vol. 2, latest ones have just been released, they are ELoG 1910 and ELoG Black Dossier, you can still find the vol 1 and 2 on ebay and online bookshops, the later ones i found locally(Comic shops).

Also in printed form highly recommend "The Difference Engine" by William Gibson and Bruce Sterling and Mainspring by Jay Lake.

Compilations have found one very good, "SteamPunk" by Ann VanderMeer & Jeff VanderMeer

In the anime vein, Steamboy(Highly recommended) and Last Exile( still to watch) contain steampunk elements.

Please post any other books, anime, dvds, comics that you have read that contain steampunk so we can all enjoy hunting them down to read/watch.

The steampunk forums I belong to often rave about the Girl Genius webcomic. I never really got into it myself, but different strokes and all that.

Something you should all see though is Visions of the year 2000, in 1900. Victorian/ Edwardian visions of flying machines and moving sidewalks and televised performances...

Hass and LSS made me sit down one night and watch The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello. It's brilliant and so very steampunk!

Warehouse 13 (currently on Cable) has a lot of very steampunky accessories - well worth checking out
Brass Goggles forums are also insanely inspirational - from there I have seen a reference to an anime called "Steam Detective" which i am going to check out.......

I second Darth Horus' recommendation of 'Steamboy', watching that helped me get a good grasp on the steampunk thing, having never experienced it before. Be sure to get a hold of the english version unless you like subtitles!

Adelaide Steampunk has some nice piccies taken at the Fringe - 'Steampunk Ball, Maiden Flight of the Olympia' event. Ideas for costumes can be gleaned from there...http://adelaidesteampunk.info/gallery/index.php (quite a few people from AGC were there and we had fun!)

I watch a parody of star trek set in the world of steam. I laughed my heart out Steam Trek.

I had been thinking about a steam punk costume. A lot of people enjoy the Victorian aesthetic but there are also steam pirates! The reference to steam pirates comes from the Manga "One Piece". I am not a fan of One Piece but I am glad to have found that I can be a Steam Pirate! I was tossing up about making a costume as a sky captain but now I am really happy 'cause I can get a pirate costume together and find steam punk accessories.
