I was searching around for ideas for something to accessorise my outfit...yet to be made.....just thinking ahead rolleyes.gif
and came across a website that could be useful for steampunk (and Victorian Era).

www.gentlemansemporium.com

They have a section for steampunk. The main things I was interested in were the goggles, but they have telescopes, compasses, fobwatches etc...

I know what you mean...
I ended up buying a small brass telescope, the glacier goggles and the gothic spectacles.

I might consider a fob watch next time.

I received them almost a week to the day I ordered them.

I am working on some steampunk accessories for my mad hatters cocktail party. Waltruad Reiner will be teaching us novices how to make hats from scratch. At the end of the tute there will be a party for all the arty students. The theme is punk but I decided to do steampunk just to be different. Now, I have a lovely pink corset top, and grey and pink striped fan skirt. I've got some gloves, nice earings and granny boots. I am going to turn an old pocket watch into a choaker with pink velvet ribbon. I've got a grey mini top hat on order. I have an old wooden can which is in natural color. What could I do with that? Has anyone got some suggestions for me as to other accessories. Bearing in mind a limited time and budget?

For those of you looking for a garrison cap pattern I've found one. Here it is: Garrison cap pattern It would be a great accessory for those who like sky captain type costumes.
