Hi Aylwen, I just realised that I can't see the registration price on the website ... and I tend to work on the theory that if I have to ask the price I can't afford it (in shops where you can't see prices I just walk away).

Have I missed the webpage it's on, or is it missing?

Thanks,
wenz

Sorry about that. I'm updating the website this week. We are still finalising costs so could not go public too quickly,

An earlybird season ticket is $195 (Thursday-Sunday). Due to the large numbers attending we have had to hire professional caterers for the meals and are booking more rooms. Workshops will be filled on a first-in basis, once you purchase your ticket you can book into workshops. Places available for the workshops will be viewable by the public from December 1st so you can check before you buy the season ticket. Friends of the Jane Austen Festival can purchase their season tickets in November.

We are holding a formal dinner with entertainments and speakers on Friday night, a formal ball on Saturday night and a night of theatre on Sunday night.

Lakeside Rydges are offering festival attendees rooms at $100 a night, but you can also check out the local nearby Youth Hostel for budget accommodation.

An extra not yet budgeted for is a bus trip around the historic homesteads of Yass, Braidwood and Goulburn on the Thursday before an evening of entertainment.

If you need a pattern for a gown, we recommend The Elegant Ladies Closet pattern, which can be downloaded as an e-pattern for US $7.95 from http://tinyurl.com/regencypatterns

Cheers, Aylwen

I'm so wishing my tax refund didn't go on specialist visits/tests, cos i'd put it aside for this. Fingies crossed I can get my ticket in December (so I don't miss out on classes).

I'll be there! Being one of the teachers I get a bit of a preview of the schedule and I have to say it looks fantastic! And $50 per day (as long as you get an Early Bird ticket!) really isn't that much for what's going to be on offer.

And just to whet your appetite, I think I'm going to be teaching two Millinery classes - one on evening headwear and one on turbans, as well as doing a class on basic embroidery. I think Pink is teaching a headwear class as well but I'm not sure what. Hopefully she'll post here too....

Pink is traveling around India right now... smile.gif She is going to run a day cap workshop.

And I'm behind with the program sad.gif but am tidying up my sewing corner so we can fit more dancers into the studio. Will post some pictures when its done wink.gif I work better when its all organised - both on the computer and sewing. For those who know my studio, we've moved the three costume racks down to the house and I have two dressed mannequins in each gap. My sewing table is near the front door of the studio and the piano is up the back under the window, with discretely covered boxes (6) of patterns. Feels very civilised!

I've just dropped the price for the festival. I was never happy with how expensive it was all getting, so have cut corners to get it back to $195 for earlybird. We're taking out some of the catering (I'm sure you won't mind biscuits and fruit with your morning and afternoon teas/coffees, and if you all wash up your own cups....) I've got the tickets on sale now while I'm finalising the program and am setting up a workshop registration page. If you miss out on a workshop there will be a different dance workshop happening at the same time, or you can choose a quiet spot somewhere to finish off a project of your own, ie. some take longer than others to finish off projects.
We're going to be recommending that people do NOT try to do every craft workshop or they will never get everything finished. There will be space set aside for you to do your own work quietly. The workshop room will only fit 12 participants comfortably but is out of the way so chatter will not disturb the dance teaching and vica-versa.

BUY YOUR FESTIVAL TICKETS HERE

Woohoo, glad to hear it! I've booked for the couple of things I want to see/do (at times when I'm not teaching) so all is good there. From memory I even manage to squeeze in one dance class, lol!

I booked in last night after reading Silver Moonblazes' comments.
All Millinery workshops are booked up, I managed to get added to the waiting list for the Turban workshop and Evening headwear, so hopefully someone wont be able to make it.

I've booked into a few other events that look interesting enough.

Hi,
Yes, I am back from India and submitted an article for publication in our magazine. As confirmed by Step in Time, I will be teaching a day cap workshop. If you had planned to do my w'shop it is now full. Sorry if you didn't make it into the cut. sad.gif I have brought back some very fine white cotton for this class. It is very good quality and you won't get fabric like it here in Australia.

Pink.

Whilst visiting Sydney I managed to snag the last earlybird ticket! I'd been contemplating attending for some weeks, and my visit to Brisbane confirmed that I definitely wanted to attend! It was a choice between this and Brisnova, and JAFA won out! I'm so excited, and I've booked into the classes I wanted to do. Now to get working on my wardrobe for the weekend and save up for the airfare!
