TasSciFi has not stopped. Just taking a brief break..."

Unfortunately we have no more info than that, but will keep you all posted if/when we find out more....

The new dates are up for the Tassie SciFi convention http://www.tasscifi.com/ and they have one guest announced (Anime voice actor Spike Spencer) though the organisers have told me they're booking another 4 or 5 more (just waiting for confirmation before posting them up on their site).

It's also at a new hotel (Hotel Grand Chancellor) and Mark & Barry have Plans which all sound very exciting - especially as they're going to include more costuming! A bunch of us went last year and this really is a fun convention to go to.

So who's interersted in tagging along this year? I'm driving over with my SO (so I can take dummies and people's costumes to display, and we're taking a couple of extra days to do a bit of touring) and we've been asked to do a couple of panels so if anyone wants to put up their hand to help out, speak now! As a sweetener, I have been given some cheap tickets to the Friday night cocktail party with the Guests (RRP $150) which *the Guild will pay* for you to attend.

So keep an eye out for VirginBlue or Qantas sales to Hobart and come along....

Depending on how I got for cash around that time of year I'd love to go.

Damn it zac why did u have to tempt me with this!!!!
If i somehow come across with heaps of money that allows me to go to all the other interstate cons i want to go to as well as this i would be there. If we presented a panel would we get free entry? (i have done several prop and armour panels)

We'd love to have as a panel presenter! But to do that and get in free you'd need to be a "Guild Member".... smile.gif (Mainly for insurance issues.)

(But joining is easy, you can download the form here!)

In essence, too many hurdles kept cropping up. They're now planning for next year.
