[SA] Adelaide Fringe Festival opening night parade

Those of you who may not have been to a Fringe Parade, it's a “sticky sweet ooze of fun and expression spilling out into the streets of Adelaide” or in other words an exciting display of sights and sounds including different Fringe acts, community groups (like us), support groups and community awareness groups who provide a pageant style parade from the corner of Hutt and Flinders Street, down to East Terrace and into Rundle Street.
Now the theme is SpaceJam, and although we could come up with loads of spacey themed costumes we need to demonstrate that the ACG is not just about Sci-Fi
Please post what costume you may think you want to use too.
So who wants in?

Merrick (Costume unknown as yet, probably something Sci-fi)

I agree with the sentiment that we should probably show that the ACG is about all sorts of costumes but I do wonder how out of place we would look 'out of theme'.
Merrick (Costume unknown as yet, probably something Sci-fi)
Old Trenchy (Tentative Gears of War, but IF there is a Watchmen group I can be convinced to get my Rorschach on)

I'd think it'd be an interesting experience though, and I've got nothing else planned - so I may as well do my (somewhat small) part in representing the guild.

Now I know what you're thinking - "does he want two sugars or only one?" Well to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I've kind of lost track myself.
But being that I don't like my coffee too strong or too sweet, you’ve got to ask yourself one question – "do you feel lucky" – well do you, punk?

Space: 1. A continuous area or expanse which is free or unoccupied; 2. freedom and scope to live and develop as one wishes; 3. the dimensions of height, depth, within which all things exist and move; 4. the final frontier.
Jam: 1. squeeze or pack tightly into a space; 2. improvise with other musicians; 3. make fruit into jam; 4. relax hangout or chill-out.
So with the exception of a reference to a TV show, there is nothing in there that says it is SciFi/space oriented. The only thing that really points this way is their poster of a spacesuit wearing a pink tutu.
And just a reminder the Fringe organisers are, umm, "artistic" so their categories are pretty vague. The one we decided we fitted best into is:
"Category 4: - CARNIVAL – includes: Show, celebration, energetic, animate, abundant, lavish, rich, colourful, unrestricted, bubbles, fantastical, fruity."
I don't think it would actually be in our best interests to just do SciFi themed costuming so any costume is welcome!
(though if somebody owns a space suit, I'll happily make a tutu for you...)

from june ,during the Fringe, as a result we will be also inthe parade to promote the same.
Hopefully we can walk together as a larger group.
we will have some costumes that will need to be filled.

Walking together in the parade, sharing resources and personnel will of course be encouraged.
As El_Presidente has reiterated, the SpaceJam theme is not limited to space and sci-fi, we would like to demonstrate that the ACG is not just about sci-fi.

Essentially anyone who's considering coming, go in the costume that you are most proud of, or your favourite, regardless of theme.

That's really quite a ridiculous definition. I mean, you can make jam out of things other than fruit.

This event is only 5 weeks away and I have a phone meeting with the organisers this week so we need to lock in a few ideas. It's be toyed around that we have those coatracks on wheel to push along with a variety of costumes on them, or perhaps a large paper mache sewing machine. Let me know if you have any ideas or if you want to expand on these ideas?
Ultimately, as has been stressed the theme is so vague, we'd like to showcase a range of costuming genres. Please if you're thinking of coming, wear whatever costume is the one you are most proud of or perhaps the most colourful!
Add yourself to the list and the costume you'll be wearing and we'll see what range of genres we can come up with.
