I got there around 10ish with my Tafe friend though I soon realised I needed to find an atm! Oh dear! But on our way to said atm we ran into
Artisticcrazy and her little one. It took us less than an hour to make our way through as we ended up leaving just after 11. Sorry I missed everyone else!
As for the fair itself, I have to admit I was a little disappointed. There seemed to be more 'second hand' items than 'vintage' and most of it was overpriced for the quality. I will definitely be going again though, as I'm sure it will grow in quantity and quality as more people find out about it. I'm actually thinking about getting a stall there later in the year (after I move) as I have a large stash of vintage patterns to sell and I'm thinking about making some items as well. My mum is also interested in sending me some items to sell for her (hooray, income!) as she makes petticoats and skirts. So despite the initial disappointment, I think it's a wonderful thing to see in Adelaide, and I will probably go once every month or two to see what new items are around.
That's not to say I didn't buy anything! At the last vintage fair (just after the ball last year) I was eyeing off a beautiful ivory 1950's hat, however I passed on it at the time, and have regretted it ever since! Well imagine my absolute delight to see that
same beautiful hat still for sale at this fair! I bought it immediately; it was definitely meant to be! And my other purchase was two pairs of beautiful
hair combs which match various skirts of mine. I actually wore a pair today and received a few compliments from tafe friends!
