Hey Guys,

I need a little bit of help so I'm hoping you guys will be able to give me a hand. smile.gif I don't normally do appliques but I know some of you do, especially the quilters. I believe there is an iron on adhesive fabric normally used to attached them but I'm not sure what it is called or where to get it? Is it difficult to work with? And is it okay to just adhere the applique to what you want it attached to or is there something else you need to do afterwards?

Thank you in advance for all your help. smile.gif

Cheers,
Rena

Hi Chasta

I use Vlisofix which is available from Spotlight, in what ever length you need and I think it comes in various widths.

I iron a piece of the vlisofix to the fabric im makiing my applique from, then trace the apattern onto the paper backing. I then cut the applique out, peel off the paper. You then place the Vlisofix side to the item/fabrc you puttin the applique on then press with an iron. This will adhere the applique to the fabric. I then use a blanket stitch on my machine around the edges.

I have some pics if your interested, just email me but i dont have any attachement space to add them to the thread, nor can i find the gallery to add them too.

Actually her are some instructions i did one before.

Agreed! That stuff is brilliant. That's how I did my supergirl 'S'. I could not have done it without it. Very handy stuff and easy to work with. smile.gif

Thanks guys! That's a great help. I want to applique some card suits symbols shortly, as well as a few other things, but it's not something i normally do. Thank you again!
