Hi everyone, loooooooong time since I last posted!

Haven't had a great couple of years, but I finally got the costuming bug back and the project is finally off the ground. smile.gif Just found out a couple of weeks ago there will be a new movie out in July - Predators. Hopefully it will portray the character a lot better then the AVP movies... tongue.gif

Anyway, here's what I've got at the moment:

"Bio" helmet
Foam dreadlocks arriving soon
Cream lycra unitard
Compression two-piece under suit (to keep cool, also just in case the lycra can't cope, and to help "streamline" the figure laugh.gif)
Foam mats for armour backing/gauntlets
20L Plastic buckets for armour/gauntlets
Createx paints to airbrush the lycra

Edit: just bought some latex armour... tongue.gif

Started testing the paints on an old t-shirt:

I thinned the green too much but I'm liking their transparent colours, the black is from their opaque range.

I'd already posted pics of the bio ages ago, but here it is again:

So that's about it for now. I'll start working on armour templates tomorrow and playing around with the dremel and the buckets to see what I can come up with. smile.gif

Oooooh very specky! Love it! Good luck.

Are you by chance a visitor to the Hunter's Lair forum? I found a tute there on how to turn a Mr Incredible suit into a Pred skin suit (with cotton balls and latex paint).

Thanks mate. smile.gif

Yeah, I do visit The Lair daily since I decided to come back to the costume. I thought about doing that, but I'm going for comfort even if it loses a bit of the look latex would give the skin. I forgot to mention, I've got a set of latex hands - that's a good compromise for me at the moment. smile.gif

Hi everyone, kinda disappeared for a while there, again... rolleyes.gif

In the meantime, I've changed the direction I'm going with this costume. I've picked one of the so called "Lost Hunters" that jump Danny Glover at the end of Predator 2. Here's one of the (few sad.gif) behind the scenes pics I've managed to get a hold of:

And here's where I'm at:

I airbrushed the mask a few weeks ago, but too bad it doesn't look anything like it! laugh.gif I think I just missed airbrushing...

So now I'm waiting on a Mr. Fantastic muscle suit that I've decided to latex after all, and I've started sorting out the colours I'll be using.

I've made some changes to the look, and I'm swapping the helmet above with a Predator 2 helmet, even though "hippie" as he's called, doesn't wear one. Also using the more standard gauntlets instead of the leathery ones this hunter has. I will use leather shin guards though, to kinda make up for it. Still need to make the loin cloth (pictured is the butt flap), sort out some shoulder armour and some blades. biggrin.gif Here's hoping I can get it done by Armageddon! smile.gif

Thanks for looking. happy.gif

That's all looking sweet.

LOL! I was thinking of using the Mr Incredible method myself for when I make Skeletor! laugh.gif

As for the 'accuracy' you alluded to with the character I think the beauty of a Pred cossie is that you can mix and match and still come up with something awesome. Very few iconic characters are like that I reckon.

Can't wait to see more!

Thanks mate. smile.gif Didn't make anything myself like I was hoping, but I do like airbrushing - and I've got a lot of it in front of me! biggrin.gif

Yeah, those muscle suits are a great idea, and can become pretty much anything. smile.gif

Another update, in the process of repainting the head:

Still don't think I'll be using this head quite like it is, it'll get way too hot. I bought 5Lt of spray latex from Barnes online so I can do the skin, and I might try to do an open face mask and have a fan inside the helmet.

BTW, I've also dumped the Predator 1 style helmet and bought a Predator 2 instead.

It's been repainted by the seller before he sold it to me and it doesn't look so red anymore. I'll probably still end up re-painting it in an aged silver scheme with black eye mesh, so it matches the rest of the armour colors better.

Thanks for looking. smile.gif
