Because we(friends and family) had so much fun being in the Penrith City Festival Parade a couple of weekes ago, I've decided we should be in the Christams Parade.

So now I have to take stock of what costumes I already have suitable for the title we've picked: "The Christmas Tree"
We have a christmas tree costume, so we need to decorate it. The plan is to have some decorations in the parade that follow the tree then pressies to put under it.

I have this far fetched idea to make the spring dog from toy story as one of the presents...OMG what am I thinking?
I've put it to the friends they think its great idea!!! now just gotta do it. blink.gif

If any one thinks they would like to join our Merry Christmas mob...let me know. Whether you have a suitable costume or not. PLenty of time to think about it.

Hey...Thanks for that.

I'll have to double check the date and I'm not sure if the organisers have organised a time yet...I hope its not too hot.

I'll get back to you with that info.

Hey

No worries smile.gif if we need extra numbers, i think a few of my friends would join in.

If you want, ill chase Penrith council about the info. They get kind of dodgy at times hehe.

Anything i can do to help?

Cool, I'll let you know as the day gets closer how many extra people, thanks for that offer. (just gotta organise/make the costumes. Some I already have...we've decided to base the theme around the christmas tree...christmas decorations and pressies all following the christmas tree itself. We will be making costumes with the summer conditions in mind.

I spoke to the organisers (Penrith City Centre Assoc) last week. The parade itself starts at 1.15 (egads it will be hot) with lots of other things happening before hand starting around 10.30. Going on the penrith City festival parade held in March this year, we would probably have to start congregating about 1 hr before the parade with the other participants, so we would meet at my shop to get changed about 3/4 hr before that...so about 11/11.30.

Anyway we can sort that out closer to the day.

Ahk cool, sounds awesome smile.gif

I have a few christmas-y costumes, not sure how much they fit your idea though... sort of like a christmas elf a bit. I don't have any pictures of the finished costumes but do have one from the pattern if that would help.

Sorry to be rude, is your shop the one near the plaza? Sort of near where the old spotlight used to be?

Yes that's my shop. Almost on the corner of Henry and Station. Come in and introduce yourself. Ask for Joanne.

About the costumes. I think I am going with the idea of making the costumes the same way just changing the colours and characters. That probably doesnt make sense, but kind of like when you buy a set of decorations and they all look the same.

Looking fwd to meeting you.

Thats another parade over and done with.

We were very hopefull that the rain would just stay a steady sprinkle on and off like it had been all morning.
No...it decided to actually rain harder than it had all day just as we started walking the parade. We were brave and put away the umbrellas. Lucky for the weather.. it didnt stop when we stopped walking... otherwise I would have been very not happy.
On the bright side, we all had fun.

Thankyou to Craftee and Kimba 1990 for helping out and dressing up for me. Also thanks to Craftee for making the Wreath costume for me. She did an excellent job.

go to my blog (hopefully this link will work)
