Having never been to the Medieval Fair before and thinking of taking a look, I thought it would be handy to know who's going and what types of costumes they will be wearing.

Each year the ACG normally has a tent display. I should be attending on the Sunday, but to costume if any I haven't a clue as yet.

I may be able to get Dad come along in costume too as an English Longbowman as he knows some of the archers who go. As for myself, I don't know at this stage and was hoping to avoid the obvious options.

As far as costuming, I'm still tossing up whether to go as a longbow archer (dressed as a man), or a Saracen woman (imagined style), or as an English Noblewoman. There is only a few weeks, so I will have to get a 'wriggle on', I may be making costumes for two.

"4. All weapons and/or dangerous articles need to be held and kept in a safe and secure manner. (No Dangerous Articles or Prohibited Weapons, as defined in the Summary Offences Regulation 2000, under the Summary Offences Act 1953 as amended, may be sold)"
This is for re-enactors such as ACG. I am assuming then, that most of the public don't come dressed up or not so into it (like us) that this would not apply.

As long as you are not waiving a sword around outside the designated combat area and any knifes you are carrying are obviously costume accessories you should not have a problem. As far as I am aware Esford will be there selling swords and Armour. Being a Collector also helps.

As papa-travaal asked earlier, I'd like to know too, does anyone know who's organizing the stall?
And at this stage, it looks like I'll probably be going Saturday. I've never been before and am eager to get a good look around and meet more guild members at the stall.

For those that haven't been before, we have a 3m x 4m sunshade that we set up with a couple of dummies in costume outside and inside are some examples of accessories and information on medieval costume, and of course, info on the Guild itself.
I'll be there all weekend. So if I've read the posts above correctly we will also have:
Saturday
Serpentia (and her father?)
Aremaous
Aribella (+ David)
Toddi
Sunday
Aremaous
Silver Moonblaze
Merrick
Jeff?
If you're attending the Fair do pop in and say hello - even if you're not in costume

Did you want me to 'man' the display for a short time? I'm a new member so I don't know what I could share (except my costume of course) and may feel out of my depth. I also would like to do lots of looking around as I never been to one of these before...I reckon I'll be like kid in a candy store!! ;-)
