Howdy All,

You'll remember that I spoke about this at our last meeting, I thought the date was Sunday 9th May, but it turns out it is on Saturday 8th, from 10am - 2pm. The Ipswich Girls Grammar are putting on the Market Day again this year, and would like us to attend. Some of them are wearing 19-teens outfits, but they would be happy for us to wear whatever era we like!

I'm waiting to find out whether we're able to use the side room again to dress, and I'll let you know whether we are. I'll be driving over, so if you're wanting to come, and would like the Cherie-bus to pick you up on the way, please let me know.

Oh, and can you please let me know whether you're able to come.. smile.gif

Cheers,
Cherie

I have put it in my diary and will attend. I hope to make up something new to wear. If not, can I wear a medieval dress, remember the one I showed you Cherie with the gate of hell. I have fixed it and it looks good.

Well she said we could wear any era, so I assume that includes Medieval!

I thin I might be working that weekend, which might be just as well as my crinoline is broken and I have lost my bustle!

Oh no! Well if you're not working, I can't see why you can't try out your new velvet and brocade number... You could also wear your dorcas number? Or did you wear a bustle under that?

Is your bustle in your hedgerow? hehehe..

Just to clarify for those going...

We decided on Sunday that we would go to Rebecca's to get dressed and leave from there in one car at around 9.30am (easier parking!)...

I'm really looking forward to going to Rockton again... Such a beautiful place and great for photos!

I received a lovely email from Eirys today thanking us for our involvement...

"Dear Cherie,

A sincere thank you to you and your friends for once again joining the IGGS Old Girls’ Association function at Rockton. Your costumes were outstanding and it was so interesting to have a range of eras represented. The friendliness and graciousness of you all really add another dimension to the occasion and I always think that you really ‘suit’ Rockton so well.

Thank you for your cooperation and for being so generous with your time. We look forward to further association with you in the future.

Would you please pass on our thanks to all the ladies who attended.

Warm Regards

Eirys"

That is so wonderful. They are such lovely people who organize the function. I was talking to a friend of mine that was there and she couldn't stop talking about all your costumes and just how professional and friendly you all are. She was really impressed at the knowledge you have of the eras, and that you allowed people to touch your costumes and to educate people of the costumes themselves, such as the layers ect. Apparently there were a few young girls that were saying to their Mum's that they wanted a costume for next year. Maybe budding costumers in the making or even the start of a costumed event for Rockton? It just goes to show that our name is getting out there and that the Queensland Chapter of this wonderful Guild is seen in such a positive and professional way. Well done everyone!
