I thought I'd start this up, as it's now less than 2 months away .... so much to sew before then. I'm going to make a costume from Laputa - already have the fabric in my stash so I can be certain of this one. I also want to make a costume from Stardust, but will need to find the fabric. Don't really want to order it from overseas, but that might be my option.

I'll fairly certain that I'll be able to pick you out dry.gif

I did end up buying the fabric from overseas for my stardust costume and I'll still have to overdye it - which clearly needs to happen in the next week. To give me time to sew.

I'll be choofing out there on Friday night, mainly to get my wrist weekend pass. I hate the queue on Saturday morning for ticketholders who haven't got the pass yet.

I should be finished in time, but it'd be great to catch up on Wednesday or Thursday.

I'm still working on my outfit. Sadly I will probably only make it Sunday.
My peeps want to go to the Winter festival at Katoomba. They have markets on the Saturday, so thats where we will be.

Look out for the Red Queen!! ...I just realised I'll have to wear weird makeup all the way in...ok..breathe!!

I still have to buy my ticket for Supanova so that I can get in on Friday night. I'll know tonight if I'll get enough done on Lamia to finish it this week without sewing like a mad thing on Thursday - which I don't want to do. Maybe some hand sewing of suffolk puffs. My fall back costume is wa-lolita.

I start a new job on Thursday - which is better than not having a job after Friday!

mdb, I'll text you & hopefully we can catch up on Thursday night.

I've decided to pull the pin on getting Lamia done for this weekend. My own bad for procrastinatory ways.

What a good day!! WE all had fun and Penny was chuffed to have people asking about her shoes. Someone even took a photo of them. laugh.gif
It was also very nice to meet Mdb.
Plans are now in the making for next year.

I had a great time, and it was really nice to meet up with some cosplayers (I'm shocked some of them remember me), and to meet mdb in real life. Your costume was made of better than awesome, and totally deserved best costume on Saturday.
my photo albums are here:
Friday night & saturday photos
Sunday photos

I finally remembered to take more photos, & Marco 'fixed' my camera (turns out it wasn't broken just needed a button pushed). I loved the Hit Girl (from Kick Ass) & there were other fantastic costumes that I didn't even see :-(

Great photos Wendy.
Did you happen to ask red alice if she striped her material herself to make the top layer? I found some material in Cabramatta...not quite black more dk grey..that should do.

All those costumes looked great.

I didn't get to ask her Lady Penelope, but I could see she'd added white flowers along the black stripes.

I bet you got plenty of good pictures too! My problem is that without my specs I can't see the screen properly :-/ but I don't want to put my specs off & on to take pics.

I think I might have to sew black ribbon on as well for the stripes, paint the flowers on and sew hearts on as well. Not too hard...might even be a job for miss penny (knock Knock penny still is funny).

I know what you mean about the specs...I generally shoot and hope I've got the pic ok. blush.gif
