We've been invited to attend in 1900s attire at the Centenary of the University Sporting Grounds on July 11 to provide some period era ambience.
To be held by the Grandstand on the Uni oval area, just off War Memorial Drive.
Here is brief run down of what they are expecting to occur on the day:
· a welcoming speech from the Vice-Chancellor
· a wonderful display of items from the early 1900s, coordinated by Arts & Heritage Collections.
· club tours of the Boat Shed and Grandstand, both of which are currently being renovated
· 13 easels showing conceptual designs for the 13 projects that comprise the Sports Facility Plan
· a special morning tea featuring a centenary cake (and design) with accompanying cup cakes
· ABC radio interviews during the morning
This is pretty big deal event in Adelaide's Academic circles and for 'Old Adelaide' families and alumni. And it's only for a couple of hours!
