You'll remember we did a "reverse strip" at the View club at Christmas Last year, and they're keen for us to do it again.

It's just after abbey I know..... which should mean that we might have someone to dress in tudor since there's a few either making a tudor or already have a tudor? I'm happy to do the victorian again, seems to go over well!

WEDNESDAY, 14 JULY 2010
Where? ... Murrayfield Room
Ballymore Rugby Union HQ
Clyde Road
Herston

Time? ... To be confirmed. Committee is usually there from around 5-5:30pm
Meeting starts at 7:00 pm.

Please let me know whether you're able to come. I can pick people up on the northside if needed.

I would like to come. I think I may have my tudor done. I was not there at the Christmas last time. What is "reverse strip"?

Instead of stripping off layers, you put them on!

Basically for my Victorian reverse strip, I started in my drawers, chemise, corset stockings and boots, and I put on all the bits in front of everyone explaining what each bit is etc etc... People are fascinated by it, mostly because they never see all the bits underneath that go into a historically accurate outfit.

BUMP! Hello, I need some numbers so I can confirm with the View club.

Ok.... I know Rebecca is not going to be able to come now, but Antonia and Angela, are you still able to come? I'm hoping that Narelle will be able to come, I really just want to make sure that's at least one other person! I'd be WAY out of my comfort zone doing this on my own! blush.gif

I am happy to come along to this. There are a number of different era that I could do: Late gorgian, regency, victorian (1830s, 1840s, 1860s, 1870s).

Hi Trinnyt:I really don't see the possibility of finishing the Tudor outer garment before 14 July. I have the fabric ready. I think I may have 2 days of sewing time available, but then some urgent jobs came in and I have to meet the deadline. I am still interested to come along...is it worthwhile to bring the Tudor undergarment along to show? G can drive me there, is it OK for him to stay? Or can I get a lift home? Being there, I can help along and also good learning for me. Cheers, A

Recieved a thank you from Heather of the View Club we visited on Wednesday....

"Just want to thank you and the girls once again, Cherie, for your wonderful presentation last Wednesday night at our Club Night. I think you would realise that the ladies thoroughly enjoyed it and I felt it was a pity that it was so short. I had no idea there was an Association such as the Costumers Guild. Just fascinating. And all that hand-sewing! The mind boggles.

Once again, grateful thanks to you and the girls."

First time back on the Forum in a loooong time, but DOH, I have vague recollections of this being mentioned to me in person sometime over the Abbey weekend, but missed it the following week. Glad to hear the girls did such a splendid job and were so appreciated! CONGRATS ladies!
