So you can get your calendars in order I'm nominating september the 18th. The event itself, a glorious tribute to all things 1980s, will be held at Steve and Catherines house. I love the 1980s and you should love it too. We don't have a BBQ so can we make the evening a classic bring a plate. We'll also organise a karaoke system, so a small fee per person to cover costs. The Studio will be set up for photos and the main event will be an ITS A KNOCKOUT tournament. !980s costume is essential. If you want to celebrate a particular event of the greatest decade of all time i.e. Fall of Berlin Wall, Skeletors coming out etc, let me know.

greed is good

EDIT: EVENT DATE SEPTEMBER 25

It's still early O_T, suggest another date and Steve may be good with it?
I have a car event early the next morning so a shift in date would be convenient.

Date seems ok with me but I dunno what to wear...got rid of most of my 80s stuff long ago (sad, I know) The only costume that I have that might be ok is a generic jedi, otherwise I'll have try and 'throw' something together. Does it have to be heroes or can it be baddies or 80's style fashion (I got nothing in mind)

...oh, I will also need someone to PM me the address :-)

It's generally 1980's hero. Wearing leg warmers and bits of cloth in your hair may be from the 80's but it doesn't make you a hero (or a character or celebrity)

Go as Madonna, Ripley, She-Ra, Kim Wilde, Margaret Thatcher, Magic Johnson, Magnum PI, Roger Moore James Bond, Burt Reynolds, Wonder Woman, Michael Jordan, Mandrake, Ghostbusters, Chuck Norris, David Bowie, Rick Astley, Kylie Minogue, Cyndi Lauper, Maverick and Goose, Greatest American Hero, Dr Who (Baker to McCoy), Rambo, Schwarzenegger, Revenge of the Nerds, Steve Gutenberg, Bob Hawke, Brooke Shields, Daphne from Scooby Doo, The A -Team, Macgyver, Princess Leia, Lt Saavik, Kevin Bacon, Princess Bride, April O'Neill, Marion Ravenwood, Emilio Estvez, Molly Ringwald, Paul Atreides, there are thousands of possibilities.

This is a pretty laid back event too, so don't fuss yourself too much about screen accuracy or anything like that.

I already asked this once but want to make sure... I was hoping to go as an 80s villain. Is that ok?

Didn't you see Margaret Thatcher in the list above? tongue.gif

One man's villain is another man's hero.

So villains are cool too. Anyone famous who maybe considered someone's idol is cool. John McEnroe is cool.

However If you are Olivia Newton John from the physical music video.....all will be forgiven.

I'm building a list of scavenger hunt items to bring, Item one A small bag of red Balloons.

Its time to buzz the tower

I'll come as a section of the Berlin Wall then! tongue.gif

Seriously though; I'm thinking I don a plaid shirt, apply some shades, and wear jeans for a change to attend as Roddy Piper from in They Live. Maybe I'll look into a blonde mullet wig.

Go ahead, make my coffee.

Now I know what you're thinking - "does he want two sugars or only one?" Well to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I've kind of lost track myself.
But being that I don't like my coffee too strong or too sweet, you’ve got to ask yourself one question – "do you feel lucky" – well do you, punk?

To Bea, or not to Bea? That is the question.

Also, if memory serves; Todi or not Todi?
