The dead rise again for this worldwide phenomenon! A shambling brains-hunting affair through the streets, starting from Rundle Park in the city.
Saturday October 9th, start time is yet to be advised.

Anyone want to start a list?

Go ahead, make my coffee.

Now I know what you're thinking - "does he want two sugars or only one?" Well to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I've kind of lost track myself.
But being that I don't like my coffee too strong or too sweet, you’ve got to ask yourself one question – "do you feel lucky" – well do you, punk?

Though I have not started to think up my outfit yet.. It's getting close - do any people have plans already??

Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

I already know what I am doing for my costume this year (same as last year basically) and been getting parts and stuff to repair and improve it. :-p

As for what we are doing well I'll be headed to the old Adelaide Gaol with Calixta for the afterparty.

I was sick the entire last week, so my plans have fallen through completely.

At this point, if I can find one, I'm probably going to zombiefy a wedding dress from Salvos. Not particularly original, but it's the best I can think of in my flu-ey state.

If you aren't aware yet, it appears that our route has been changed to go down Grenfell st instead of hindley, mall etc, which kinda sucks a lot. Still its something to do though. good luck .... see you there.

^^^ Yeah they changed it on Monday citing City council and Police's 'safety concerns'.

Now I can agree that 3000+ people wondering down a popular street is going to cause some problems but it just won't have the same impact as last year. I reckon it's also because of the complaints all the shop owners made about their shopfronts being smeared with blood or their patrons being hassled. Oh and apparently there's a clean-up zombie crew this year to tidy up after us.

But a change in route is better than being cancelled I guess.

I'm still very keen to attend this event, but I'm just a tad bit worried about make-up.
I have absolutely no clue what to do as far as this part is concerned, and I feel as though it would be silly to just show up in a torn-up zombie outfit while lacking any make-up.
So yeah... advice/help/suggestions/other?

I'm sure there will be teams of people there who can put some make-up on you.

Zombie make-up is one of the easiest parts of the look. You don't have to be a decomposed corpse, you don't have to have anything elaborate.

Keep in mind the majority of those attending aren't going to bother with or even have access to proper latex or make-up kits and and will probably just be drenched in blood. Simple and probably enough for Zombie Walk.

You can look on the net for examples of zombie make-up. Get a cheap face painting kit and use that. I did the first year and still had fun.

I'll be a pretty fresh zombie this year ... it's more about participation and having fun than anything else happy.gif

Make-up is always up to you! I've seen thoroughly decayed zombies as well as the freshly bitten. When it comes to blood, you can find a variety of fake blood at most party stores, but i've found the best stuff is "Bloody Scab". Apparently you can get it at Peter Van the Party Man (according to my friends last year). I'm heading down on Tuesday afternoon to see if they still have it.

Looks like jam, easy to apply and take off as well. I used it last year along with some white face paint/cream and dark eyeshadow for my bullet-riddled bride. Simple but effective smile.gif
