I know I'm not the only one impressed by the new costumes (particularly the gorgeous historical costumes in 'The girl in the fireplace') wink.gif The new cybermen look awesome! Who will be the first to make a suit I wonder?? lol

I've seen a lot of people online making costumes from the new series and it's nice to see that it's popular.

Years ago, one of my friends made a sontaran costume out of paper mache and it turned out really well actually. lol

We had a Tom Baker style doctor at Terra Nova 3 as well smile.gif

Diddley Dum Diddley Dum Diddley Dum, DOOOOO WEEEEEE OOOOOOH!!!

Yeah, i'm making the Doctor's Costume and i'm looking into a new series cyberman as well as a new series Dalek. Cause Doctor Who is my FAV scifi of all time, even more than Stargate Atlanits and Starwars, which is a big thing.

For all those interested in cybermen though...

Cyberman Mask

This is only the front of the face, but it's not hard to make the reverse edge, and all it needs is a slight repaint. But yeah, the rest of the armour should be an easy task, fibreglass, PVC piping and abit of Rubber/Latex work and you'll have yourself a Cyber Suit.

Yes I must say Dr Who has always been my favourite Sci Fi show - they've had some great costumes over the years but the new series ROCK! I like the new cyberman but boy do they make a noise when they move thump crash thump crash! smile.gif

I've definite plans to make Rose Tyler's costume from the episode, 'The Idiot's Lantern', from season 2 of the new series. It's a beautiful candy pink 50's dress, complete with candy pink peep-toe heels, fishnets and white net petticoat. Topped off of course with the beehive and candy pink Alice band, the 50's pink sunnies and the cute cropped blue windbreaker.

(See: http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/gallery/s2_.../1024/rose1.jpg & http://www.bbc.co.uk....1024/moped.jpg)

At the beginning of the ep, they start by showing her shoes, and then scan up to show the rest of her outfit. I fell in love with it the moment I first set eyes on those cuute peep-toes! And of course I LOVE 50's clothing, so I knew I would have to make this outfit! It's going to be a pretty simple one to put together - except that we never see the top of the dress, so that's going to be a bit of a guess. I'm pretty sure it's strapless and completely sequined, but that's about it.

Well I've ordered a voice changer mask for my cyberman attempt(have to see how well it scales out when I get it) and I'm doing tests at the moment on aluminium impregnated resin to get a nice metallic look like the originals.

I could kick myself. I missed The Girl in the Fireplace episode here. But I did get to see the large resolution images on the BBC site... sigh. If I ever find a bullion embroidered fabric I'm very tempted...

Still have to measure everything up but it does look like a good basis for a cyberman costume,it even has the blue light in the mouth when you talk smile.gif

Hey people

I watched the last episode of Dr Who and thank you very much, i didnt need tissues, i needed a towel...
That was totally sucky, I'm an original Dr who fan and then first time the dr finds someone he can love, she is taken away.....actually he was in love with Sarah Jane as well....i hope that Billie piper changes her mind, i read on a forum that she was doubting her decision to leave the show....so you never know

So anyone got a darlek laying around somewhere......i'm not good in any other capacity, i'm the right shape for a darlek tongue.gif short and round.

This is going to be a stupid question, is there a Dr who thing coming up or something....i hope so, because i have become a David Tennant fan and this is a good thing.

cheers you beautiful people laugh.gif

My parents and i made a dalek costume for book week when i was in primary school - i loved that thing, so many tennis balls died for it.

It was the best costume ever! its somewhere in my parents house, probably under the stairs.

I do remember romana II had a spiffy costume in Horns of the Nimon, and Ace had lovely dress is in ghostlight.

David tennant rocks as teh doctor. I liked nine as well, pity he only signed for one season though.

PS Yay! cybermen group. (waaaaay to short over here)

Well I have a dalek sitting in the living room watching TV(lazy thing won't even do any plumbing work) but it's not terribly moveable without a van...or a covered trailer.

As for Dr Who events there is a torchwood con planned for next year by first contact conventions(they'll probably have info at terra nova in november and on their website). Not exactly Dr Who but pretty close tongue.gif
