I want to do quite a few things, but I haven't decided what I will start after the ball and a costume party in september. I have got some components for Witch Hunter Robin though.

Hi Kaname... nice meeting you on Saturday even if I didn't really remember you guys from AVCon smile.gif

Its awesome that you guys are starting so early for the Himeji event! I won't be starting anything for that until October due to a certain cancan dress I need to make. But that is ok, I will still have 6 weeks to make something and I made my Lolita dress in a month so I should manage.

I just got FFVII AC on dvd so I will know who you are talking about soon. That would be cool too.

Nymph, if you get stuck remember to ask questions around here.

If you need to as well I could possibly tee up an evening for you to come to my house with a sewing machine if you need to, but probably not until October so you probably want to start before then and have a go.

I'm not the best sewer (still a novice), but I have taught people how to make medieval tunics. lol. There are heaps of talented people around here you can ask too. (oops second time I said that)

You could even come have lunch with me and possibly Alison too one day if you are free if you need material advice from spotlight or lincraft. I'm sure we could arrange that too during our limited lunchbreaks.

Yeah do some drawings and get some printouts for colour references. I can probably catch up for lunch later this week. I would say a cotton would be nice and colourful and easy for you to work with.

Alison has a glove pattern now too I think so perhaps she could help you with that side of things after making her plugsuit...

Make sure you get your wig organised ASAP because that is really the hardest thing to make sure you have right smile.gif

You could probably put a wire in the white section of the dress to make it stick out nice in a circle. Are you making the tail?

Another good tip is to write down each item you need for the costume and to tick it off as you go... wig, headband, ears, tail, dress, gloves, shoecoverings, etc. You can even break these into steps to help you stay motivated because crossing things off a list is a great way to watch your progress.

On a side note... another cute cosplay I would like to make is something from Pretear. They were cute costumes! I would love something from Card Captors as well just for the cute factor. Maybe I should do that instead because they are very lolita-ish anyway

that would be so cute,
card captors has some of the coolest outits!

im not sure if im getting a wig or using my real hair yet,
im kind of checking out the optios at the moment,

yeah i was thinking putting a wire circle in the bottom of the dress
to make sure it flares "right"

one issue ive had that i discovered last nighnt was amys costume actually varies slightly between the game sonic and the show sonic X
*such as the white strip on her shoes and her hammer*

so ive got to decide which to make,

for the boots im thinking of dying some ugg boots, and adding the white to them

the only thing im worried about is the hammer,
i was to make it "stuffed" but im worried it wont hold its shape and just flop,
i might have to look for some wire to mold into it

on a side note omg what started out as just sarah and i going as a sonic group
may be a fair few people lol,
we were telling some people about the ball and now we have other people who may be joining 2 come to the japanese dinner!

god,
more costumes...
lol

I will be awesome if they join. Then the can get the magazine with all the pictures in it and lots of other info too smile.gif

I think with the hammer I would either make it out of foam... or if you wanted to make it material make the handle stiff with a piece of covered dowel and make the hammer part stuffed as full as you can with stuffing. Then I think it won't flop.
