While at Miegunyah House yesterday, I stumbled across a flyer for the exhibitioon "Modern Woman: Daughters and Lovers 1850 - 1918" Drawings from the Musée d’Orsay, Pari Exhibition. It is currently on at the Queensland Art Gallery at Southbank. I thought it might provide an interesting exhibition to attend and view the historical artworks. In costume of course.

http://qagoma.qld.go...ters_and_lovers

It is running until the 24th June.

Ticket Prices:
Adult - $18
Concession - $15
Student - $9
Children (under 12) - Free

Costume options range from 1850 - 1918. So be it bustle, crinoline or titanic, I am sure most of us have something.

Time - Meet at 11am outside the Queensland Art Gallery. We will most likely follow the viewing with a trip to one of the many cafes at southbank for tea.

Date options:
Saturday 5th May
Saturday 19th May
Saturday 26th May
Saturday 2nd June
Sunday 24th June

Please nominate if you would like to come and your preferred dates. (I will pick the one that the most people can make it to).

Hi 'yall
On mothersday the Gallery has a program of events for the exhibition, the first of the day being
"1.30pm Dressing the Modern Woman Dr Jess Berry, Lecturer in Art Theory (Queensland College of Art, Griffith University), explores the radical transformation of women's dress as depicted in the works on display. Exhibition ticket required. "

I'm not suggesting you go on another day, but how awsomely cool would it have been for you all to have rocked up in costume to the talk !

I would love to come as I've been meaning to go to this exhibition, and am pondering a bustle dress next. But I don't want to rush it and let the side down, so I would only be a maybe. Thats the downside of being a newbie, no wardrobe to access!
And if anyone wants to give me bustle dress advice I would be extremely grateful :)

More than happy to help you with bustle dresses! I have one or two... -cough-orfive-cough-.... Ask away!

You can also wear your Titanic outfit - that's more than appropriate!
