I wanted to bring this to everyone's attention, and I hope that you will all warn other people too.

http://www.the-magic-wardrobe.com/index.html

Please stay away from this seller. Do not buy products off them, and beware they also sell on ebay.

I'm a member of the Leia's Metal Bikini group on Yahoo, and Jamin, the founder of the Leia's Metal Bikini website, has been warning everyone about this particularly seller. Long story short, after an incredibly rude email in which he threatens to make Jamin go out of business unless they join forces to sell their bikini's, to which he politely refused, this guy managed to get a hold of one of Jamin's bikini sets and seems to be now making recasts of it to sell as his own work.

Looking over the costumes that he sells, I'm horrified to find so many recognisable costumes renamed under broad categories, and sold for phenominally high prices! I'm sure there would be a lot of angry costume designers, producers and directors if they came across this website.

So please, don't buy off them, and spread the word. PArticularly, don't buy the Leia bikini off him!! Support Jamin!

"Superhero flying suits"

UGH.

And $4500 for a dodgy mascot suit... I charge $900 US for a fully custom three colour tailored suit. For $4500 I'd be wanting it to FLY, man.

Student mercenary?! $4000 for a Vampire Bridal gown?! Futuristic Desert Scavenger....oh boy. Futuristic Mentor Star Warrior....so sad. Most of it doesn't even have real pics, half of what's left are bare drawings with bad names and many costumes look to be VERY badly made. The school girl uniform and the Moulin Rouge Bridal gown are particularly bad.

Thanks for showing us this, Abi. I had never heard of them but now I plan to make sure no one I know buys from these guys.

OK. Have a couple of Sellers to add to the 'beware of' list.

Imposter City - www.impostercity.com - Famous for Matrix & other popular replica prop sunglasses.

I bought & paid for 2prs on 28th Nov 2006. Then 22 Dec, they email me saying the particular style I ordered is out of stock & possibly not available for at least a month if ever again & did I want to choose another style. (their website listed the style IN STOCK at the time I paid). I was on holidays & didnt see this email until the end of December yet by then there was also an email dated 28th Dec, stating they had now shipped my order. I had paid US$17 for Global Express Shipping, 5-10days, and the order was already a full month late being sent.

By the start of February, still no sunglasses. I asked for it to be resent, and shipped by FEDEX as this had been intended Christmas presents. No word. It took them nearly 2wks to respond to my complaint, simply asking that I give it another TWO WEEKS, saying that they would 'resend' the order if it hadnt then arrived. 1st of March I made another complaint. They responded, apologising, and asked IF I WOULD LIKE THEM TO SEND IT AGAIN.... again I requested FedEx at their expense due to the highly unacceptable delay.

The box FINALLY arrived today. It was posted the 6th March. Sent by Regular Airmail - for US$3.07.
AND one of the pairs of glasses has SILVER FRAMES, and not the black frames like the other set.

I've demanded a refund of the full shipping costs, if not the US$14 overcharge, and a refund on the pair of sunglasses that are the incorrect frames. And so I wait....

The SECOND Seller to steer clear of .. eBay Seller: SayYes1668

6th Jan I purchased 11 lots of Lace trim x 5 or 3 yds each, over 4 Auctions. (intended for my Bustle dress & parasol) 2 auctions were GB$, 1 au$ & 1 US$. The Seller agreed to Paypal me in once Invoice for all four auctions, thus combining shipping more effectively.

ON THE SAME DAY, I then get four email x 'Unpaid Item/Mutual Agreement' disputes from eBay, where the Seller was saying I'd renegged on the Auctions so we'd agreed to close them, the Seller was trying to diddle eBay & get their auction costs refunded!!!

I emailed eBay, advising what the true arrangement was, and got confirmation back on all counts that no strikes would go against me. *phew*

Two days later, I get an email from the Seller 'WARNING ME' that they were going to do this so please go along with the eBay disputes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAAAAAAT?????

I emailed the Seller back, explaining that they were too late including me in their ruse and that I had already explained to eBay what was really agreed upon & the disputes had already been closed. They replied thanking me for the explanation and apologising for any concern it had caused me.

You can imagine my HORROR when the Paypal Invoice arrived for nearly $200.

They hadn't combined shipping on the total 11 lots purchased as their auctions agreed they would. They were charging US$15 S&H charges (when their site calculater said it was US$4 to AU) PLUS US$2 per additional lot, and on each of the four auctions/group of lots. When confronted they explained the calculator was 'broken' & $15 the correct price per auction, the rest was the equivalent to having pay the same 4 ebay Invoices separately, but netted them nearly US$60 more from me. Of course, this definition defeated the original purpose of their agreeing to combine the 11 lots into one shipment in the first place.

keep to mind, this all took place back in January, and I had to take 2 wks/paydays to pay them in two parts. The bag of laces just arrived yesterday, March 19th. All Lots were correct except one auction/2 lots, that should be 5yds each but are 4.5 & 5.5. (I'll use those on the parasol where the joins wont matter)

I wont be leaving Feedback, wont buy from them again & discourage as many as I can to avoid them like the plague!

If you want to leave negative feedback without the usual reciprocation, wait until the last minute of the 90 days following your auction, (you can leave feedback anytime up to 90 days following an auction) and leave your negative. It should be too late for them to leave it for you, unless they happen to be looking at their ebay at that minute.

ooow... nifty suggestion... but I'd have to calculate the Seller's timeframe? or eBay's timeframe? ... they're in Hong Kong but which timezone to go by .. theirs, mine or eBay's .... hmmm...

I just read the email on AbsinthAngel's lj.
My god what a dick. He sounds like a 16 y/o trying to be a business man. He didn;t even proof read the thing before he sent it. which is a big plus for threatening letters. But from i read in that email, he is the only person who did wrong as stated here:

"Our worlds started colliding on eBay. You killed our banner agreement without warning. You had a better costume and you crushed our sales. We were only able to sell costumes on our site, but your pricing effectively made us a non-player, which is why I wanted to resell your product. There's also no point getting into the details of our decisions from the past. We can't change it."

Does he realize how dumb he sounds? If someone has a better product and better pricing than that's tough noogies. You either make yourself better or more competitive on your own skills or find something else to do.

Ah yes, the dude who threatened Jamin. It really was such a nasty thing. Though I've not heard any more about it from the Slave Leia community, so I'm guessing it was all sorted out. Even if I was going to buy my Leia bikini from someone (I'm making mine myself) it would be Jamin, coz his are a reasonable price and top notch quality! And he actually cares about the costume!

Unlike this fellow! urgh!!

I just read the email. What a dick!!!

How can someone who runs a superior (His delusions) company and superior (Like i said..deluded) products expect to grow a business by threats? I stumbled onto his site a couple of months ago. I looked through some of the costumes and I could not help but wonder how does he sleep at night charging that amount of money for costumes that do not look accurate and made from cheap fabric!

I was looking for ideas at the time for Satine's Red Victorian gown. Guess how much he was charging for a pair of gloves! Go on guess! $75US. Are you kidding me? You can buy gloves LOCALLY for under $20.

$150US for just Leia's hair ornament?

And he groups Star Wars costumes as futuristic. Hello!!! It was in a galazy far away!!!!! Did not specify when it happened. That could have happened years ago or at the present!!!!

FORCAST: I do not think they will be in business long. Karma has its way about sorting greedy people out!!!

I good site also is StarWars Chick!! They have the kit except the top, boot tops and snake armband in finished and unfinished kits. The un finished kits are $150US Sounds good to me. I am sure she wouold make a top if requested!!

Sonia (Soniata here on the forums) had hers made by StarWars Chick. She did make the top too, though I can't remember how much it was.
