There is nothing specific planned in the horror style here in Adelaide in the near future.
However, that said, the Annual Ball in July has an open theme, so if you wanted to do something like that for the ball, you are welcome to. The Xmas party at the end of the yera is also open themed, so you could do it then as well, although it gets very hot in December.

We have the following each year:
Various workshops
Themed events
- 1 fantasy
- 1 sci-fi
- 1 historical
- 1 cosplay specific
Costumers Ball in July (open theme)
Xmas party in December (open theme)
There are other conventions and events in addition to those, but that is where we start for the year. Sometimes people have their own themed birthday parties as well.

Isn't the ball in August? If it's July I might be able to go this year!
There's plenty of Buffy fans and the like, perhaps a "Whedonesque" event in the future?

Ahh a whedonesque event would be cool, I like the whole Buffy Angel thing but I also like Serenity firefly thing too, he is a very tallented man

Joss whedon or whedonesque sounds like a great idea. so starfire im a bit confused when you say the events are already planned. does that mean we dont try to add to it (i dont want to step on anybodies toes), or when you say there are other conventions and events does that mean we can add??

You can provide information regarding 'non-Guild' events and conventions if you think they are appropriate and not already listed.
If you yourself organise an event (such as a themed birthday) you can post about it and discuss, invite Guild members etc etc... but I'll leave specifics regarding these things to those who know more.

There is always at least one event each month, whether it is a workshop or an event. Workshops are an important part of why the guild is here, to help share knowledge and teach new skills.
We don't want to overload everyone with too many events, otherwise we won't have enough time to make the costumes

Plus I think more official events would kill the organisers after all the hard work they already do and we don't want that!!
Nothing is stopping you from organising your own meetups and seeing who wants to go, like I do for the people interested in Lolita fashion once every second month. It just won't be an official guild event, which is fair enough

oh okay cool, so as long as if i want to organize something i advertise it as an UNofficial meet up of my own. is that right? and by advertising i mean starting a new topic about it
please correct me if i am wrong.

Yes, that's correct. As well as "to...share knowledge and teach new skills" the Guild is all about connecting costumers together. So if you have an idea of something you'd like to do in costume, that you'd be happy to have other people in cosume come along to, by all means put your idea in the Fairs and Events forum and see what responses you get. Check out the posts about Metanoia's Lolita meetups here in Adelaide and Alex's Fursuit and Ear and Tail day in Sydney to see what they've done.
As it's not an official event, you need to be aware that you (and anyone going) won't be covered by our insurance. And do bear in mind if you do put up a post about an activity you're organising, then you can reasonably expect that people who aren't Guild or Forum members may want to come along as well. The web is open to everyone with internet access, which means we suggest you don't put your home phone number as a contact
Can't wait to see what your idea is...
