I can't remember who was after plaid or where we were discussing it despite a search sad.gif

I've been checking out the plaid though and so far haven't found anything I liked. DK Fabrics had a few bits and pieces, but not much true plaid. I did find something that looked like the pink and grey plaid spotlight had last season, but I'm really after the blue and grey (wishing I bought some now and stored it cause now I have a plan for it and can't find the fabric)

Spotlight has new plaid's in for only $8.95 with your spotlight card, however they're limited to three reds, a blackxwhite and a green. Nothing that I thought was overly nice, but then I'm not keen on red plaid and found the blackxwhite too much of a contrast.

I asked and they said that perhaps as they get intot he season there will be a bit more, so keep an eye out.

What I'd really like to do with it is a Metamorphose replica of this skirt with the bluexgrey plaid that I saw last year cause it was so pretty I just didn't know what to make with it at the time and it was a little expensive.

Fingers crossed they'll get some nice plaid in again because last year they had some nice stuff for punk loli styles as well.

I bought this plaid from Spotlight for $5/m. BARGAIN! I've been steadily working on the blouse, the overskirt and the little cap over the last few weeks. I'm thinking of making a short lolita tie as an alternatively accessory to the skirt.

The skirt has a peekaboo back which I don't have any photos of yet and I wear it with a three tiered white skirt (the one I bought from you Kel!)

This reminds me... I also saw some nice plaid fabric in the Adelaide Spotlight the other day.

I have this plaid, which I got from DKs and I'm hoping I had enough... it resembles the plaid I saw in Spotlight last year, but I really was hoping spotlight would have the tan and lt blue they had... all the colours this year are too redxgreen so far... must check it out again.

I like your dress Cat.... you know that yellow plaid skirt from your recent meetup?? Thats what I want to make. A metamorphose replica of that in the plaid shown here. But I don't know what colour lace to use for trim.... hmmm

Thanks! You SHOULD like it since I totally ripped the pattern for it from your Alice in W dress (plus a waist band of course). wink.gif

As for your beautiful tartan, if the colours on my monitor are accurate, I'd go with a coffee coloured lace.... or black. You wearing it with a black blouse or white? If white, then coffee, black or white lace. If black then coffee or black lace.

ha ha!! really? I've been wanting to make a skirt based off that pattern. I'm glad its coming in useful for you and especially that you are getting use from the skirt smile.gif That was my attempt at hand drafting that style... I made the dress, then totally guessed with tailors chalk, cut and hoped for the best.

I was thinking of making either a cream or antique pink blouse for my first one actually. hmmm.... I have had a hunt for coffee lace, but spotlight and lincraft are atrocious for lace that isn't white. I haven't been able to colour match any of the threads. As far as I can tell from my monitors that pic is the closest to the actual colour of the material. The browns make the pink look dusky, but its actually quite a bright pink if you look at the thread colour by itself. lol

From those combos it sounds like coffee or black would be best for lace. Time to bring my swatch out again for some serious hunting. I think I'd prefer coffee lace so that it is trimmed, but it doesn't scream trim if you know what I mean.
