Turning black shoes bright green - link to photo

QUOTE
These are Demonia's Goblin shoes (available at the Cosworx store! Go buy some!), turned obnoxiously green with Angelus leather paints, which are fast becoming some of my favorite things in the world. I attached little Cthulhu charms at the ankle straps, and once I find my Rub n' Buff I'll turn the silver buckles gold to match the rest of my hardware. I haven't worn heels regularly since high school, so I'm a little nervous about walking around in these all day. I suspect Dr. Scholl and I are going to have a very intimate relationship in the near future. P.S., the bows on the backs of these shoes are just about the cutest thing ever.

Response re: does the paint peel with wear?

QUOTE
The only instances I've had in which the paint peels at all is if it gets stuck to something before it's fully cured-- like if the shoes are put too close together while drying and they rub up against each other. They really have to sit for at least a day or two to eliminate any tackiness. After that, though, I haven't had any problems with the paint peeling, fading, or anything like that. It took several coats to fully cover the black, which I probably could have eliminated by doing a white coat underneath, but I'm still very pleased with the coverage.

I think that the success of this probably decreases if they are not a firm shoe (ie. if it was knee highs that would crease at the ankle with wear), but definately worth knowing about I think.
