I was sure this has been discussed before, but I can't find it.

Where can I get some hollywood tape? I want to make sure my home made stockings and gloves don't fall down and dont have time to reinforce them with elastic. I figured some of this stuff would do the job.

Do I have to go to that theatre supplies place down on Peel st, or is it something spotlight has? Which section if at spotlight so I can save time and not ask the useless staff happy.gif

Cheers

There are a couple versions and most lingerie stores should carry either Hollywood tap on the roll or the kind in pre cut strips that make them easy for small applications. I used the strips to make sure the back of my lake dress stayed put! Just make sure, when you put it on, that you don't have any powder or skin cream on as it will not stick as well.

I'm wondering whether it might be a good idea to grab some of this to make sure I don't have any wardrobe malfunction in my wonder woman corset. I've not yet put the eyelets in, so I don't know how tight it's going to be yet. I'm pretty sure it should be enough to hold everything in, but I might grab some jsut in case. biggrin.gif

I got the strip kind. I have 20 precut strips that look big enough to do what I want. Its really only there incase my sewing of my socks wasn't good enough. Not a drastic embarassment wardrobe malfunction, but still a malfunction all the same if it happens.

Oh, if its just to hold socks or stockings up, you can also use Sock Glue. The best kind is from Japan and available on ebay but little asian stores often carry the stuff here too. I got a tube of it for my Japanese slouch socks and it works great. For thigh highs or something, the strips of tape work WONDERFULLY at keeping them up and not rolling down.

:gapes in wonder: well, I love learning new things, and that there's sock glue is lovely to know.

I found Hollywood tape in Roni's (a budget shop in Burwood Plaza) and I bought a pack of the pieces, hoping they'll be right for my fake moustache. The glue came off it - cos I was lazy when packing it away. I'll be performing with Farrah again in a month so I was very grateful to find it so easy (and hoping $5 was a good price).

There is suck thing as sock glue??? wow

I think its too late to start seraching now, but they are thigh highs so good to hear the strips work. With any luck the lycra will do most of the work for me with the strips just to make sure they stay put.
