For AVCon this year I have assembled a group to cosplay as various character's from CLAMP mangas.

We have:
Doumeki from xxxHOLiC
Fai from Tsubasa Chronicle
Kobato from Kobato
Sorata from X

So far we have completed (or close to) the Doumeki and Fai. Sorata is underway but I'm looking for a bit of help with the Kobato one.

My sister will be coplaying as Kobato but I'll be making the costume. I'm looking for suggestions for a pattern to base the costume on. I'll post some pictures later because I'm a little busy at the moment.

http://kobato.renhi.net/ <- I think the main picture on this site is the Kobato costume that my sister wants to wear...

Note: The colours aren't correct.

PS. I have Chobit ears!

Seems a lot of people missed the link... Here are the pictures of the cosplay that I need help with making for my sister.

Kabato is only a new manga so there aren't many pictures to go by. This is probably the clearest one of the desired outfit.
I'm looking for pattern suggestions. I'll be starting on this costume on June the 26th and have until July 20th to complete it.

I think you'll need princess seams to get the fullness in the dress. I really don't know if I will be much more help though... For the yellow I would probably try bias tape if you can get it in yellow.

The colours aren't correct as that is a fan coloured image from the first manga.

I came across this pattern: http://www.butterick.com/item/B4665.htm

I'm thinking I could modify B. Thoughts?

I didn't see anything really suitable in Simplicity, McCalls or Butterick, but they do tend to follow what's fashionable at the moment

Vogue, although more expensive, is usually a better place to look for classic patterns or potential 'designer' styles so...
This one has a good collar and may be a good one to start from
http://www.voguepatterns.com/item/V2714.ht...gner&page=8
This one has better sleeves
http://www.voguepatterns.com/item/V8316.ht...gner&page=2
This one is double-breasted but might be a better one to start from.

Otherwise I'm pretty sure I have pattern/s at home you could modify - Email me via the Contact Page (before the weekend) if you want to check them out

Thanks for the suggestions but I think I'm going to stick with the Butterick pattern I found as all I'll need to do is flare it all out.
