I'm planning on cosplaying L from Death Note for the upcoming Avcon and I need some tips to make the cosplay as perfect as possible. rolleyes.gif Since I've never cosplayed before, I thought I would start off with something easy...ish.
Any tips would be welcome, especially those on hair!

L has to be one of the most easiest cosplays, excellent for beginners but I see it being done to death in the next couple of years. The only part that can be difficult is the hair. My suggestion is to wear a wig, that way you should be able to get the ideal length and direction of the hair.

Do you have a picture? I'm not familiar with Death Note.

I would buy a wig, only problem is, I can't afford to get one, and since my hair is the same length of L's, I thought it would be good if I used mine.

That's cool if you can style your own hair in that way. You'll need some heavy duty gel, or something else with strong hold!

Try manga-hair gel.
And practice leading up to the con so you know what works and what doesn't.

Oh, I'm going to practise with it. And I've already used the manga-hair gel...my hair didn't really take to it..but I'll try again.

I would advise against manga hair. I find that it settles a little too quickly, and kinda killed my wig. I can only imagine what it does to real hair.

I would use hair putty, myself.
