Due to time constraints I've had to change my mind on who I'm going to dress up as for the Nov/Dec Cosplay event.

I'm now looking at dressing up as Itoshiki Nozomu a.k.a. Mr. Despair from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a good wig for this cosplay? I'm sure one of the many L style ones would work.

But I love it, it makes me either interesting of the most boring 20 year old on the planet!

I know a lot of my friends are in this forum, except that I don't know who's who, so that's going to be a pleasure to work out. My first public costume debut was cosplaying Lenne from FFX2 at Brisbane Supanova 2005. In 2006 and 2007 I ran Cosplay Snap, a photography service for cosplayers, resulting in many beautiful photographs.
I also used to go to BAS (Brisbane Anime Society).

I have also attended the Abbey Medieval festival (in Caboolture, where I live), for the last two years.

For the first half of 2007 I was working as a full-time 24-hour restaurant manager for Pancake Manor (on Charlotte St, Brisbane CBD), AS WELL AS studying full-time on a double degree at university (Bachelor Business/Bachelor Accounting).

Working full-time and studying full-time was all time-consuming so on the 07/07/07 (lol) I decided to leave my job to focus on my studies, and since then have had a lot more time for family, friends and forums. :)

I've just come back from Ebay, saw a lot of nice "L" wigs while I was there.

Check it out smile.gif

Oh wait, Queensland. That's where he lives. Is that close to Brisbane at all?

Yeah, I've been looking around eBay as well, it's just I don't know how to to tell the difference between a good wig and a cheap nasty one.

Try amphigory.com, they have lots there and the prices are pretty good. They have a range of quality too so you should be able to find something.

They do have a few nice wigs, however I've already purchased one from an eBay seller. Just waiting on postage now.

I'll keep that site bookmarked though as I might be after some other wigs in the near future. Thanks for the link.

I'm now looking for the fabric to make the kimono out of. There are various different textures he wears in the anime but the most reoccurring one is the pattern in the image in the first post. If anyone sees a similar textured fabric around Adelaide please let me know. I'll get some pictures of all the various textures that have appeared so far in case I'll have to go with an alternative.

biggrin.gif I had the same idea the other day (while getting another friend addicted to it). You mentioned you weren't going to be going to the next event mainly because you had nothing to wear. I thought it should be pretty easy for you to find a school outfit to wear and go as one of the students. It would help make my costume recognizable as I don't think the Zoo staff will be too pleased if I show up with a noose around my neck.

EDIT: Oh, I see how that can be misinterpreted. Sorry to give you the wrong impression, I'm too absent minded to plan anything of the sort.

I got it from the following eBay store:

They have quite a range of cosplay wigs.

Almost complete... I just need to reduce the sleeve length a bit and give it a good ironing.

Oh this wasn't an L cosplay... The wig that I got for it was one styled in L's hair style, that's all.

I'll be going as Remu and my sister as Misa from Death Note to next year's AVCon though. I hope to see you there and get some photos.

AVCon has attendees of all ages, you'll have plenty of peers.
